Did you uninstall 1.64 and then install again ?
Can you please try to uninstall everything including etw and then install etw --> v1.64 --> v1.65beta with installers. It shouldnt crash afterall!

Well I did as you said Ank.
Deleted all etw files, made then a clean etw install, then TROM 1.64 install and TROM patch 1.65 install.
And the same problem persists. My Russian campaign crashes and the Preobrazhensky guard is missing.
But that's not all...
I couldn't even launch the game because of ...... the README file which gives you bad installation instructions !!!!!!
In the readme file it says:
The problem is that the installation path is not "...\empire total war\data" (as it says in the readme) but as it is put correctly in the selfinstaller installation path box "...\empire total war" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL First time I get problems because having read the readme file. (You guys should have named it DONTREADME !!!

All that none sense because someone made a bad readme and omitted the Ornamentum Preobrazhensky Guard unit............
Anyway, it's installed now, but I can't play my campaign on which I spent A LOT of time and Preobrazhensky guard is still not available.
2 Days spent doing BS just to be back at the starting point lol...
