A rule not to atack enemy general with infantery or cavalery is not included to LoV list. Howewer, is it concidered fair play when a cavalery regiment charges general unit standing far from melee and other troops and not participating in battle? I usually charge enemy generals with cav when they are involved into mellee or have been surrounded by troops i've just beaten. The point occurs as I do not regard such atacks as "gentlemen behaviour", however they are commited on my general from time to time which makes me totally mad.

Re: Attacking the general unit
I understand your resentment. However, LoV rule does say only one thing about it : - No general sniping
It means you may not shoot directly at a general unit with your canons.
Except if : the general is clearly very far from its troops and between his troops and yours. (Because he would get shot in real life too, in such a stupid condition)

Well yeah I knew that, i just mean damage made to general by cavalery..
Ok then. I think it would be a good policy to respond to players trying to get to my general with the same methods.

i dont like the General sneaking method. I know of no record of Cavalery that sneak behind enemy lines to hunt down the general. Its lame and too effective. I'm adding this to my rules as host

Re: Attacking the general unit
Arjan, it actually happened many times with Napoleon.
Especially during 1814 campaign, lines of communications were really a mess, and there were cossacks quite everywhere. And Napoleon almost got caught several times.
The Prince of Prussia got killed by french cavalry cheasing him, in 1806.
I dont find it "lame", just watch your back Arjan. It might help you on the 31st ....
